Hunger Games 2,Catching Fire movie loses its director and filming is in jeopardy. Recently,there have been rumors swirling around that director Gary Ross might not return to direct the big Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire. Now,according to a new report from Collider,that news has been made official as Gary released a statement,which basically states that he will not return to direct it,and the scheduled fall filming could be in serious jeopardy if they don't find someone else very quickly. We're sure that they probably will,though. Gary's official statement went like this: "despite recent speculation in the media, and after difficult but sincere consideration, I have decided not to direct Catching Fire. As a writer and a director, I simply don’t have the time I need to write and prep the movie I would have wanted to make because of the fixed and tight production schedule." So, basically he has abandoned the Catching Fire project for something else. Lionsgate released an official response,which stated that they were really looking forward to working with Gary,and are very sorry that he chose to depart from the project. They finished it up by saying, "This will not be the end of our relationship, as we consider Ross to be part of the Lionsgate family and look forward to working with him in the future." Catching Fire is supposed to start filming in the fall of 2012. We'll see if that holds up after all this madness. Stay tuned.
